Cedar Hills Gun Club Meeting

September 5, 2018

 

Board members present: Jed Taylor, James Martin, Stuart McKim, Ron Weaver, Randy Shiokashi, Bill Kelleher, Terry Hansen, Rod Cross, Larry Taylor, Jake Black, and Chris Jenneiahn.

 

The meeting was called to order at 7 PM by president Jed Taylor.

 

Indoor Range– The cipher locks are now operating.  Gate passes will open the gate, 5 Stand building and Indoor range if qualified to use.

 

Qualifying for the use of the indoor range will be done on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 5PM to 7PM and on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 9AM to 12PM.  Qualifying consists of shooting 20 consecutive centerfire shots at a target from 15 yards and hitting said target.

 

Trap: the new voice pullers have been installed and working well.

 

Foosball Table- Thanks to Mike Adams, the foosball table now has a new home.

 

Gate barriers– 8 concrete  barriers will soon be placed to protect the gate card reader and the entrance gate. 

 

The Annual Sight-In-Day is scheduled for September 22, from 9AM to 3PM.

 

Range Help– We have received resumes from 3 potential applicants for part time help on our ranges.  Job descriptions were circulated for candidates.  Applicants will be interviews shortly to see who might best fill the job.

 

Outdoor Pistol Range– Travis Buck reported that he has added a target to the 1st bay, cleaned up the second bay and told us of the need to work on the multi-range bay.

 

Trap-Bill Kelleher reported that all is doing well.  Shooting begins about 5 on Thursday nights.


Sporting Clays– Jake Black said the final week of sporting clays has been shot.  A dinner for all participants was held on the 14th to end the league.  There have been lots of shooters for this discipline.  The sporting clay target throwers will be moved next month to the 5 Stand course and 2 courses of fire will be put in place.  7 machines will be left on the upper range.

 

Range mowing– Mike Adams reported that the range will be mowed next week and berms sprayed.

 

Water line break- Thanks to a new member who reported a water line break!  Giesens was called and the break was repaired.

 

CMP membership– We have been asked by a member to join the CMP.  Chris Short will look into what we need to do to become a member again and see if this is would be advantageous for us to join.

New members were introduced.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:34.
