Cedar Hills Gun Club Minutes
June 5, 2019
Board members present:
Jed Taylor, Terry Hansen, James Martin, Larry Taylor, Mike Curnutt, Ron Weaver, Bill Kelleher, David Davids, Jake Black, Mike Katseanes, Mike Marquette, and Chris Jenneiahn.
The meeting was opened at 7 PM by president Jed Taylor.
Treasurer’s Report: James reported that the club is in good fiscal order. Last month we had a large purchase of clays. That was the only large bill. All other financial reports were accepted by the board at their meeting.
Old Business- The upper range is nearly completed with the concrete poured for the ramps. The only remaining work on this range is the installing of the railings and the pole where the security cameras will be mounted.
A reminder to all who use any of the ranges- Please wear your lanyard with your gate pass while on the range to identify you as a member. Also, please try to police our ranges. This means take with you whatever you brought with you when you leave and if you see any litter, also take care of it. Help keep our ranges in good order.
New Business:
Upper Range- David reported that there is a possible hazard of tripping on the ADA ramp. This needs to be looked at.
Indoor Range- Mike K. reported that shooters should be more aware of where their shots are going. If you need further practice, please use the outdoor pistol ranges.
Trap- Bill reported that the trap is doing well and starting about 4:45 on Thursday evenings. This is open to the public.
Sporting Clays- James reported that the range will be closed until about 3 or 4 PM this Thursday and Friday because of the match on Friday.
Calendar- Larry reported that if someone wants to reserve a range they need to contact him to add it to the calendar. A reminder to all who use the small bore range- safety is an issue. If you bring your family, the rock wall on the west side of the range is not safe for children to play on as this area is the home of several snakes.
A special message was given by Jed notifying the members that as of January 1st, 2020, he is stepping down as president.
New members were given a range orientation by Terry.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:35.
Respectfully submitted,
Chris Jenneiahn, secretary
