The Cedar Hill Gun Club is seeking applicants for a part time position to help maintain the range. The position would require applicants that are willing to be around firearms and wear proper eye and ear protection. The applicant would need to be able to drive a UTV, possess some mechanical abilities, have a working knowledge of DC current and batteries, be able to lift car size batteries and boxes of clay targets, have the ability and strength to transport boxes of clays up and down the stairs to the boxcar where they are stored, be able to work with the club members and have the ability and confidence to run the 5 stand building during winter weekly shoots. The work schedule could be flexible for all activities except the scheduled weekly shoots for the 5-Stand.
Training will be provided.
The primary duties of this position would include:
Loading the clay targets in the throwers. (26 throwers on the sporting clays course – Summer only; 16 throwers on the 5 stand – Winter)
Maintaining, charging and replacing the batteries for the throwers.
Running the 5-stand building and pulling targets/keeping score in the winter (3 hours on Thursday nights and 6 hours on Saturdays).
Performing some mechanical diagnosis and maintenance on the clay target throwers.
Emptying the garbage and sweeping the floor in the 5-stand building.
Maintaining the club house – empty garbage, clean bathrooms, fill toilet paper and towels – weekly; vacuum/sweep – when needed.
Empty garbage cans into the dumpster using the UTV. All garbage cans from upper and lower ranges once per week.
Pick up shotgun hulls on shotgun ranges. Keep all ranges tidy.
Shovel snow off the entrances to the 5-stand building and club house – Winter only.
