January Newsletter 2024

I don’t know if it is too early to say, but it feels like spring is almost here. With nice weather, people are itching to get out and shoot. To avoid additional cost, remember to renew your membership soon,
March is fast approaching.

The trap range is the only range closed until late spring. We pulled the thrower out to hopefully prevent costly repairs.
Come out and enjoy the range. The new cover on the large pistol range has been a huge benefit. I hope everybody can enjoy it.

A few housekeeping items.
1. Please DO NOT move the steel targets or target stands. This has been an issue with the .22 range.
2. Please reach out if you notice something is broken or needs attention.
3. Please pick up after yourself.

There are some upcoming events here at Cedar Hills:
 The first FOR WOMEN ONLY Shotgun event
Beginning course for shotgun shooting
Date: Saturday, June 8th, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: 5-Stand building at Cedar Hills Gun Club
Cost for the days program is $50. Shooters must be 16 years or older, provide a shotgun they are familiar with, eye and ear protection, and a safety mindset. This event will be limited to a maximum of 30 women shooters.
 A new ARA .22 club will be starting this spring. This will run though the end of August and will have national qualifying shoots. Watch for start dates and contact information.

With spring just around the corner please watch for more range improvements. We will be doing more dirt work, berm repair, and working on more parking.
We have some very exciting and amazing news! We did receive the contract for our grant. This is a grant to add a Skeet Range to our facility. Construction will start soon. We hope to keep interruptions to the range at a minimum. The ranges that will be affected the most will be the Trap Range and the Indoor 5 Stand. Please be patient with us during this process. We look forward to the Skeet range and hope everybody has the opportunity to enjoy it.

Please be safe and enjoy the range!
