December President’s Message
Christmas is in the air. With that, we are involved in many holiday activities that pull us in
different directions. It is great to have a wonderful gun club that we can go to and escape, just to wind down.
All ranges are continuing to see great use even during colder weather. Members continue to
qualify to shoot in the heated indoor range. Check the events calendar on the website to see
when qualifications are being held if you still need to qualify.
Come and enjoy the indoor .,22 rifle league shoots on Thursday evenings from 5 PM until they are
finished.
The 5 Stand building continues to see great usage. This venue is open to members and the public onThursday evenings from 5:00-8:00 pm under the lights and on Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm. But remember, as a member, you have access seven days a week. For those who wish to brave the cold, the upper sporting clays is open with an 8 station, 50 target course. 5 Stand leagues will begin after January 1, 2019.
A couple of quick reminders- The annual membership renewals are due for 2019. For those who have not renewed, please go to our website, www.CedarHillsGunClub.org and click on the link or contact Chris Jenneiahn to arrange payment. If you have not renewed by January 1, 2019, your gate pass will become inactive.
Due to New Year’s date this year, the January meeting will be held a week later than usual. It will be on the SECOND WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH, JANUARY 9TH INSTEAD OF THE 1ST WEDNESDAY.
Hope everyone has a great Christmas and Holiday season. Again, thank you for all your support. It is exciting to be a member of Cedar Hills Gun Club.
Merry Christmas
Jed Taylor, president
Cedar Hills Gun Club minutes of Dec. 5, 2018
Board members present: Jed Taylor, Mike Curnutt, Randy Shiosaki, Larry Taylor, Ron Weaver, David Davids, James Martin, and Chris Jenneiahn.
Treasurer’s report: James reported that the club is fiscally sound. A goodly number of members have already paid their dues for 2019. The board has reviewed the November financials and approved the submissions.
Old business:
Jed reported that the two new employees have been doing a great job. They have been taking charge of running the 5 Stand building as well as maintaining our facility. Please remember to pass along “Thank You’s” for their hard work.
Fish and Game Grant- Jed reported that John Gregory, the person charged with improving the upper range according to our grant, has already poured the concrete apron and framed the stairs for this range. He reported that the ramp and stairs should be finished in a couple of weeks if the weather holds.
Cipher Lock System-Reports of the door to the indoor shooting range being hard to open, have been coming in. If you are trying to unlock this door, PLEASE PULL THE DOOR TOWARD YOU, then put in your number. The door will open easily.
Berm build-up between the lower covered range, .22 rimfire range and the multi-purpose range-
Two of our members are working on this and reported that the dirt for the berm extensions should be delivered in the next few weeks.
New business:
CHANGE OF JANUARY MEETING DATE-Because the January meeting is so close to the New Year, the meeting for January will be scheduled for the SECOND WEEK in January, the 9th.
A reminder was given to renew memberships by December 31st as all memberships not renewed by this date will have their gate cards de-activated.
Several new members were given a short range orientation following the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:35.
Respectfully submitted,
Chris Jenneiahn, secretary
