Cedar Hills Gun Club
minutes of April 3, 2019Board members present: Jed Taylor, Terry Hansen, Larry Taylor, James Martin, Bill Kelleher, Mike Curnutt, David Davids, Ron Weaver, and Chris Jenneiahn.
The meeting was called to order by president Jed Taylor at 7 PM.
Treasurer’s Report: James reported that the mortgage and NRA insurance payments last month amounted to approximately $5,000 more than what we would normally accrue. We are more than solvent. It was also noted that work for the upper range, when completed, will need to be paid.
Vandalism- Over the past weekend someone intentionally shot at one of the covered trap throwers, damaging the carousel. The damage was more than enough to require us to purchase another carousel to replace the one damaged. The cost will be approximately $500. This type of behavior is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. What is even more frightening is the fact that if anyone had been on the sporting clays course they could have been shot. We are asking anyone who has any knowledge of this to please contact any member of the board with information. A reward will be posted.
Range reports:
Upper range- David reported that he will cut gongs for the upper range. The railroad ties presently at that range will be removed.
Lower covered range- Gordon asked that shooters remember to remove any targets brought to the range when they leave.
.22 rifle range- Chuck reported that there were 15 people who shot in their winter league. The distance for shooting this event is 50 feet. The second week in May will start the Summer League. This is a Thursday evening event that starts about 5:30.
Trap- Bill says he’s ready to start tomorrow if anyone shows up to shoot.
Sporting Clays- There are now 15 stations. There will be a registered shoot on April 13th divided into many classes. Come out and join the fun!
Calendar- Larry reports that the calendar is up and running. If anyone wants to schedule an event, make sure you contact Larry to have it placed on the calendar. He is also giving a Johnny Appleseed program. This is a 2 day course.
Terry reports that if anyone is not getting the newsletter to please call him and he will place you on the list. Thanks to all who showed up to work last week on the Multi-use range. It was done quickly because of all the helpers. Thanks again for all the help!!!
Last month’s program with Jeremy Harris and Dr. Tom Call produced many positive comments. Another Thank You to all who came.
New members were introduced-
The meeting was adjourned at 7:23.
Respectfully submitted,
Chris Jenneiahn, secretary
