2020 Winter 5-Stand League Shoot

We are excited to announce the start of the 2020 Winter 5-stand league shoot January 2, 2020 and go through March 28, 2020.

The following are the rules for the Cedar Hills Gun Club Winter 5-stand league:

Competition will be between individual shooters.

The Winter 5-stand league shall consist of the scores of ten 50 round scores consisting of the raw scores of one 25 target Red and one 25 target Blue course or two 25 round Red course scores or two 25 round blue course scores.  For example, a shooter could come to the club and during the course of the day shoot two Blue course scores and one Red course score and could use any combination of 25 round scores that provides the shooter with the highest possible score.

The ten 50 round scores must be shot over a period of 12 weeks.  The shooter must shoot at least ten 50 round scores during that 12-week period to be eligible for league scores and prizes.

The scores may be shot any time during that period including weekdays, weekends, and evenings.  We ask that the scores be signed by the shooter and a witness then placed in the top of safe slot in the 5-stand building. Scores will be picked up weekly and posted on gun club website for review.  You cannot shoot alone and declare a league score.  After 10 League scores are shot, a shooter can improve his scores by substituting a higher score for a lower score shot earlier during the league.  The club encourages shooters to do so to improve your average, increase competition, increase practice time to improve your shooting skills, increase club spirit, and most importantly, have more fun.

There is a $25.00 entry fee that must be paid prior to starting to compete for league scores.

At the end of the league time period, scores will be scored via four Lewis classes with the lower scoring classes getting the best prizes.  The winner of the highest Lewis class will win 1 box of shotgun shells and a groovy Cedar Hills GC 2020 Winter League champion cap.  The second highest Lewis class winner will win 5 boxes of shotgun shells, and a Mega-cool Pheasants Forever cap.  The winner of the 3rd highest Lewis class will win 5 boxes of shotgun shells, a Mega-cool Pheasants Forever cap, and a half vest shotgun shell waist carrier.  The fourth highest Lewis class winner will win 1 case of shotgun shells, a Mega-cool Pheasants Forever cap, and $75 pair of chrome plated English snap caps.  Lastly (no pun intended), the lowest league total score shooter will also win a case of shotgun shells. Prizes maybe added as time go along.

At the end of the Winter League event, a great (hamburger) dinner will be provided to toast the 2020 Winter League champion and the Lewis class champions and relive the great moments of the Winter League.

We look forward to seeing you out and shooting a lot of clay targets.
